The incumbent Member of Parliament for Awutu Senya West, George Andah his seat to contest the December 2020 parliamentary elections on the ticket of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP).
Mr Andah polled 438 while his contender Joseph Aidoo on the other hand garnered 191 votes.
Awutu Senya West constituency has 24 polling stations with 648 delegates but 18 candidates failed to show up for the primaries.
After he was declared, Mr Andah who is also Deputy Communications Minister called on party members to unite to improve the party’s chances of winning the December 2020 general elections.
“I wish to sound a strong warning to the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) that the NPP is poised to retain the seat in the upcoming presidential and parliamentary elections slated for December 7,” he said.
Mr Aidoo who conceded defeat accepted the outcome of the primary and pledged to work with the incumbent to ensure an emphatic victory in the December polls
