Member of Parliament for Manso Nkwanta Constituency in the Ashanti Region has distributed over two thousand extra face masks to constituents for the ongoing voters’ ID card registration exercise.
The distribution is part of ten thousand pieces of such protective materials to be given among residents to reduce the rate of infection of Covid-19 during the period of the exercises.
Prof Joseph Albert Quarm says “it is the responsibility of every Ghanaian to protect themselves.”
Though constituents have observed social distancing protocols at various registration centres while taking their turns to be registered, he said it is necessary for them to be fully protected.
The donation is to enable all residents within the constituency adhere to the wearing of nose masks directive to stop the spread of the disease.
Mr. Quarm did the distribution of the masks personally at the various registration centres making sure everyone who stand the greatest risk of being infected gets one.
According to the MP, it is important for people to understand the issues surrounding the pandemic in order for them to strictly observe and enforce preventive measures put in place.
He also encourages residents to continue to practice social distancing during the exercise.
