The Minister for Environment, Science and Technology, Professor Kwabena Frimpong Boateng says measures were being implemented to secure and safeguard the ministry's property.
His submission comes on the back of last week’s demonstrations by the staff of the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) over reported demolishing exercises being carried out on their bungalows in Labone by a private developer.
According to them, the team involved in the activity only retreated after some confrontation.
In a sitting of the Public Accounts Committee of Parliament today Monday, September 7 2020, Prof. Frimpong Boateng mentioned that their agitations are receiving attention from the Chief of Staff, adding that Ministers of Lands and Housing are currently investigating the matter.
"Among other steps, we have instructed CSIR to wall off the land at Pokuase, estimated to cost around a million dollars.
Again, we recently went to secure lands for a project that stops encroachments from the other side of the Atomic Energy Lands" he added.
