Deputy Campaign Manager of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Mustapha Abdul-Hamid has accused the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) of spreading fake news amongst the general public.
According to him, the Mahama-led political party has developed a number of pseudo websites, purposely for generating fake news and misinforming electorates.
Dr. Hamid said during a news conference on Wednesday, October 14, 2020, that mass rejection of the NDC by Ghanaians is the cause for the said vice.
“Indeed the NDC has registered and is using so many of such domain names to populate the internet with a lot of fake news. They mimicked established media houses like the Ghana News Agency, and such other State News Agencies” he said.
The Minister for Inner City and Zongo Development referred to the claims as 'concoctions, fabrications and inventions' meant to defame the Nana Akufo Addo-led government.
He criticized the leadership of the NDC, most especially Member of Parliament for Tamale Central, Alhassan Fuseini Inusah, for facilitating the spread of fake news.
Dr. Hamid is asking Ghanaians to ignore these reports and rather channel their focus to the works of the incumbent party.
