Chairperson of the Electoral Commission, Jean Mensa

The Electoral Commission has taken measures to ensure that students facing challenges with transferring their votes to their preferred districts or constituencies are able to utilize the transfer window.

It announced in a press release dated Monday, October 21, that its officials have been directed to rely on other forms of identification such as admission letters, exeat slips, and residential addresses of students.

The move is in line with the Commission's commitment to providing equal opportunity for all electorates to exercise their franchise during the 2020 Presidential and Parliamentary elections.

In preparations for the polls, the Electoral Commission also conducted a balloting exercise on Tuesday to determine the order of appearance of Presidential candidates on the ballot paper.

The governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) will take the number one position on the ballot sheet followed by the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC).

The two main parties were followed by newly formed Ghana United Movement (GUM) and the Convention People’s Party (CPP) taking the fourth position.

Ghana Freedom Party (GFP), Great Consolidated Popular Party (GCPP), All People's Congress (APC), Liberal Party of Ghana (LPG), People's National Convention (PNC), Progressive People's Party (PPP), National Democratic Party (NDP) and an Independent candidate follow the list respectively.
