Nine out of the 10 NDC supporters who were arrested at Aboabo over the weekend have been released on bail.
This is after supporters of the party staged a protest at the police station and demanded the release of the arrested persons.
The police in a statement explained that the arrests was part of routine surveillance to armed robberies in the town.
However, the NDC said this reason was unjustified as the persons arrested are known in the areas and they are not robbers.
MP for the area Muntaka Mubarak who was displeased with the occurrence said the party is getting concerned with what he described as “intimidation” of the opposition.
“The police have said they are looking for a particular person and they heard that person was hovering around.
"They showed me a video and when I watched it, the wanted person looks nothing close to near any of our boys," Mr Mubarak told the press ahead of the release of the arrested persons.
However, one person remains in police custody. The police have explained that he is assisting them with investigations.
