Awutu Senya West NDC chairman, 99 Executives Defect to NPP

The immediate past NDC Constituency Chairman for Awutu Senya West along with 99 branch executives have defected to the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

Mr Simon Duodu as well as other former members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) party explained that this is because of the many social intervention policies implemented by the NPP government.

According to them, they are yet to see any of such interventions from the NDC.

In an interview with Adom News, the former Chairman Simon Duodu explained that the NDC has never implemented a social intervention program that has helped in reducing unemployment during any of their tenures, that is why he and the other NDC party members have defected to the NPP.

He added that no party in the country has been able to break the unprecedented record of the NPP with regards to job creation in the country as well as social intervention policies that help the ordinary citizens.

"The NPP has introduced a lot of good policies: the National Health Insurance Policy, and [in the transport sector], the Metro Mass system all these are the handiworks of the NPP and least to speak of is the Free SHS which my own son has benefitted from," he said.

He, therefore, charged all Ghanaians to vote for NPP to continue their good works.

Some of the branch executives have also appealed to all NDC members in the Awutu Senya West Constituency to vote for NPP to end the one-term syndrome for the ongoing developmental projects to continue.

On their part, a constituency that is keen about its development needs an MP who shares in the vision of constituents and the constituency at large.

They added that Mr George Nenyi Andah is a leader who possesses all the qualities of the MP needed to develop the Awutu Senya West Constituency.

Further, the Member of Parliament for Awutu Senya West, Mr Andah urged the people of Awutu Senya West to vote massively for NPP to make Awutu Senya West stronghold for NPP.

George Andah also called on the defected NDC members to work hard to retain the seat for NPP

"The issue of defection itself is something that I think shouldn't be downplayed. The work is at the polling station so announcing defections is not necessarily a sign of victory but the quality of the defections and the commitment of those who have defected," he said.

"Traditionally, Awutu Senya is not an NPP stronghold but we are working to change that," he added.
