Co-chair of the Citizens Movement against Corruption, Edem Senanu says the office of the Special Prosecutor is being unprofessional in the handling of recent issues.
Speaking to JoyNews’ Evans Mensah on PM Express, Mr. Senanu said it was disturbing to learn that the Office of the Special Prosecutor with all its power and mandate had rather asked the Flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama to come and be interrogated on his own.
"Martin Amidu is experiencing a very low point in executing his official duties. This whole thing about I couldn’t invite him because it is a political season is a construct which one cannot accept," he said.
Mr. Senanu used the platform to urge the Special Prosecutor to provide a separate objective report on the Airbus scandal like the office did for the Agyapa Royalties Agreement.
He also added that it was unhealthy for Martin Amidu to continue exchanging words with former president John Mahama.
"Mr. Amidu should focus on his work and give us a comprehensive separate report on the Airbus scandal and proceed to invite the former President for interrogation."
The Co-chair of the group cautioned the Special Prosecutor to stay neutral in order to regain his credibility while following due process.
He again applauded Martin Amidu for his 67-page report which he described as "good and carried enough information."
