Caterers from the 23 constituencies in the Central Region who cooked free meals for JHS pupils during the peak of the Covid-19 pandemic have discounted claims the Central Regional Chairman of the NPP has received funds meant for their payment.
Allegations making rounds in the region indicate that the Regional Chairman of the party, Robert Kutin Jnr. has received a momo transaction of ¢21 million effected on his phone for their payment of the caterers.
But at a news conference, the caterers intimated, even though they are owed by the National Secretariat of the School Feeding Program, the regional chairman had nothing to do with the process for their payment and should not be maligned.

Coordinator of the caterers, Effie Oforiwaa Effah, says all the caterers have been paid their money with the exception of 20 days and they believe such funds would be processed by the national secretariat in due course.
"If everybody has been paid their money with the exception of a few days, why should there be allegations that a momo transaction of ¢21 million has been effected on the phone of the Regional Chairman," she clarified at the news conference.
She dared anyone who is yet to be paid their funds to come out so they could help them get their money rather than soiling the image and reputation of the Regional Chairman.
School feeding coordinator for the KEEA, Agnes Asantewaa Annan Donkor intimates the allegations were politically motivated and are emanating from people who want to contest the regional executive positions.
“We are saddened by the way some people would want to malign others in order to get to their positions. That’s unfortunate and such persons should bow their heads in shame,” she stated.
The women say they are worried because the Regional Chairman has been a source of help for the women in the region and if for nothing his name should not be destroyed in the name of anything.
