The nine-member parliamentary committee probing the collapsed of UT Bank and UniBank Ghana Limited has ordered the petitioners, Prince Kofi Amoabeng and Dr Kwabena Duffour to submit all the needed documentation to support their petition.
Chairman, Joseph Osei-Owusu said the documentations will serve as a guide to the committee moving forward.
Mr Osei-Owusu said the committee is expected to meet in two weeks’ time to peruse the documents by the petitioners.
He spoke with Adom News on the sideline of the inauguration of the 8th Parliamentary Service Board.
“The committee met last week and after reading the petition we decided to call on the petitioners to bring to us all the documents on which they based their request.
“So that the committee will review and guide ourselves on the way forward. We have not yet received them, I think we agreed that we will reconvene in two weeks,” he said.
On the vetting of Deputy Ministers, Mr. Osei-Owusu who also doubles as the Chairperson of the Appointments Committee said the names are yet to be forwarded by Speaker’s office to the Committee for consideration.
“An anticipation of nomination coming whilst Parliament was on recess, Parliament by resolution empowered Mr Speaker to be clothed with the powers of pernary so that if he received the nomination he will forward them to the Appointments Committee.
“Mr. Speaker has shown me a copy but the system is that he will minute it to the clerk before it comes to the Appointments Committee,” he said.
