Contestants of Kumasi High School and Awudome SHS have progressed to the next stage of the National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ) in their quest to win this year's trophy.
Featuring in the Ashanti Regional qualifiers, Kumasi High School on Wednesday defeated Osei Kyeretwie and St. Jerome SHS with 39 points at the end of the contest.

It was a smooth sail for the winning school since its contenders failed to match up the energy level emanating from its contestants.
Kumasi High School now joins the list of schools including St. Hubert Seminary, St. Mary’s Girls’ SHS, Konongo, Juaso SHTS, Osei Tutu SHS and Adventist SHS, Bantama who have qualified for the national championship to commence in October.
The narrative is not distinct from the contest that occurred in the Volta Region today.
Contestants of Awudome SHS also dominated its rivals right from Round One to Round Four to claim its victory.

With just a point less than what Kumasi High School garnered, Awudome SHS made strides as it stood against Mawuli School, Hohoe E.P and Three Town SHS.
The school has also joined its counterpart, Mawuko Girls Senior High School in the national contest race.
