The Techiman District Police Command has conducted a swoop to clamp down on criminals who use unregistered motorbikes and tricycles in committing various criminal activities within the Municipality.
The command after the exercise which started at 8 am on Wednesday impounded a total of 93 motorbikes and 4 tricycles for various motor traffic offences.
District Crime Officer ASP Williams Abayeteyie disclosed to JoyNews that the move is part of a series of similar swoops embarked by the command to sanitize the Municipality from crimes committed with stolen Motorcycles.
"We are carrying out this exercise because unregistered motorcycles are usually for criminal activities and we have to do this to clamp down on these criminals," he told Joy News.
He further noted that the owners have been asked to produce the necessary documents covering the motorbikes and tricycles for necessary action.
The operation ended at 2 pm without any unusual incident.
