The Commanding Officer of the 66 artillery regiment, Lt. Col. Edward Sarpong Appiah, has been inducted into office during a parade held in his honour on Sunday, August 22.
Lt. Col. Edward Sarpong Appiah during the ceremony at Ho in the Volta Region noted that one of the bedrocks of an effective and efficient regiment is discipline and professionalism.
According to him, he would ensure the welfare of soldiers is maintained whiles resolving matters of concern.
He stated that there is a need for collaboration and cooperation among security services to ensure residents in the Volta and Oti Regions continue to enjoy peace and security.
"I am happy with the level of cooperation between the security services that have led to the success chalked so far in dealing with the activities of the secessionist groups and other criminal elements in the two regions, " Lt. Col. Appiah added.

He, therefore, assured residents of maximum security and also urged them to assist the security service with useful and timely information on the activities of miscreants and perpetrators of lawlessness
Lt. Col. Appiah expressed gratitude to his predecessor, Col B.B. Pantoah for his continued support.
The guest preacher, former moderator of the EP Church, Rt Rev Lt Col Bliss Kofi Agbeko (rtd) admonished the congregants and officers to support the commanding officer with prayers.

Notable among the people present was the southern Command, Brig Gen Michael Ayisi Amoah and other security experts.
