President Akufo-Addo has defended contractors working on a number road construction projects in the Ashanti Region.
This comes after concerns of residents in some areas about the constant lull in the progress of work, leading to further deterioration of the road.
Chief of Kuntenanse, Barima Amankwaa Adunan II asked the President to ensure the contractor of the Atonsu-Bosomtwe road, Kofi Job Company, sees to the completion of the road construction on time.
President Akufo-Addo speaking on Pure FM in Kumasi said the contractors cannot be blamed, pointing to financing as a major setback.
"If they were not working then all these developments we are seeing, how will it come about. Yes, there may be an occasional problem of financing and you know the margins they work with are little but they are working", he said.
"I will name one of them, for instance, Kofi Job who many are blaming, I hesitate to imagine the amounts owed to him. It is in tens and tens of millions but still he is working," he said.
Prior to that, youth of Atwima-Boko had registered similar displeasure about the Kwadaso-Trabuom road.
The President added that the challenges on the road are being exaggerated.
