Stunt group FantiAcrobats has identified lack of cooperation and support among players in Ghana's entertainment industry as the major source of all its problems.
FantiAcrobats is an Acrobatic group from Ghana based in the UK. The group has traveled across Europe and Asia with their craft.
In a conversation with Becky on E-Vibes, the troupe further explained why the industry is lagging behind.
“They don’t help each other, the envy is too much. We have one guy here from Ghana, he’s a dancehall musician, and he’s more popular than some dancehall artistes. He’s even worked with America’s Jay Z.
“He’s Ghanaian but he won’t associate with the entertainment industry because of their attitude. Kweku has a huge following in Europe,“ they stated.
They suggested that the industry must make a conscious effort to support each other genuinely.
“We have to help each other, as an industry that’s what we lack and must work thoroughly on that and stop the pull him down and selfish attitude if we want to get anywhere,” they said.
The group started by performing in Ghana and relocated to Europe due to lack of support.
“We started performing our show back in Ghana and we decided to travel around to learn. Plus our job in Ghana is not lucrative and also people keep telling us to look for a better job. So we decided to relocate and we haven’t regretted that decision.”
E-Vibes is a weekly programme that delves into the background of the country’s celebrated personalities who are doing tremendous work in their chosen field of work cutting across sectors.
