US-based Ghanaian Gospel Singer, Sarah Sings, says growing up she did not want to be a musician because of the frustrations her mom went through when she was a gospel musician.

According to Sarah, her mom, Rev Diana Asante, was a gospel musician who had 8 albums to her credit.

But speaking on Evibes with Becky, Sarah said despite her mother's achievements she faced many tribulations, thus making the music business undesirable to her.

“I didn't really have much of a choice but to sing. I come from a family of musicians. My mom was a recording gospel artiste. She has 8 albums to her name. She served alongside Mary Ghansah, Emy Newman, Daughters of Glorious Jesus.

"I did not want to do this because of what I saw my mum go through, challenges and frustrations. Growing up, seeing what my mum went through, I told myself this is something I would not love to do. I didn't want to do it.“

But at a certain point in her life, she had a change of mind and decided to pursue music after she heard from God through a dream.

“But I have always sung in the church. From Sunday to the youth choir, KNUST, and a worship leader.

All along from my childhood, I have been receiving prophecies about what God wants me to do. I was shying away from it. One day I had a dream that changed everything. What God told me in that dream is what started my music ministry. I had no other choice than to obey the voice of God and heed to His call.”

Sarah, born and raised in Accra, Ghana, is now based in the US where she is a gospel songwriter, vocalist, and an anointed international worship leader.
