On Thursday, February 10, the Youth Wing of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), aged citizens, head porters also known as “Kayayie”, Coalition of Concerned University Students (CoCUS) thronged the streets of Accra.

They protested the passage of the Electronic Transaction Levy (e-Levy) and the ongoing strike action by the University Teachers Association of Ghana (UTAG) that has lasted for about a month.

Clad in red and black, they converged at the 'Obra Spot' and marched through the Kwame Nkrumah Avenue, Farisco, Striking Force, the Kinbu Road, the Octagon, the National Theatre through the AU Roundabout.

The demonstrators carried placards with inscriptions such as; "e-levy is a no brainer to economic recovery and we insist that Yentua!" and "Pay UTAG. Students are suffering!"
