The race to becoming champions of the 2022 National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ) keeps getting more interesting as many get closer to their dreams and others have theirs shattered.

On April 26, the regional qualifiers in the Western Region continued with four contests.

The first contest for the day featured Fiaseman SHS, Asankragwa SHS, Half Assini SHS and Prestea SHTS.

The next contest featured three schools - St John's School, Mpohor SHS and Uthman Bin Affan SHS. Sankor SHS for unknown reasons did not partake in Contest 5 as earlier indicated.

At the end of the two contests, Fiaseman SHS and St John's School booked their slots to partake at the preliminary stage of the national championship.

Contest 6 of the Western Regional Qualifiers involved Axim Girls' SHS, Annor Adjaye SHS, Diabene SHTS, Nkroful Agric SHS and Tarkwa SHS.

Tarkwa SHS emerged victorious with 35 points.

The final contest on Tuesday saw Fijai SHS qualify for the national championship after beating Takoradi SHS, Huni Valley SHS and Asankragwa SHTS.

Earlier on Monday, April 25, the Western Regional Qualifiers commenced and three contests were held.

Archbishop Porter Girls, Sekondi College and Adiembra SHS made their way to the national championship after beating their contenders in each respective contest.

Meanwhile, the final contest of the Western Regional Qualifiers will take place today, April 27.

The schools participating in Contest 8 are Ghana Sec. Tech. School, Esiama SHTS, Nsein SHS and Shama SHS.
