The regional qualifiers for the 2022 National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ) commenced on Monday, April 25.
In the Western Region, 34 schools are battling it out for eight slots at the Preliminary Stage.
Three contests were held yesterday. The first contest featured Sekondi College, St Mary's Boys' SHS, Methodist SHS, Bonzo Kaku SHS and Baidoo Bonso SHTS.
Sekondi College with 44 points, emerged winner at the end of the contest.
Their dominance was revealing as its closest contender St Mary's Boys' SHS garnered 23 points.
The other schools struggled to secure 10 points.
In the second contest, Adiembra SHS won the race. The school contended with St. Augustine's SHS, Bompreh SHTS and Daboase SHTS.

Adiembra SHS ended the contest with 36 points.
The last but not least contest involved Archbishop Porter Girls', Amenfiman SHS, Ahantaman Girls' SHS and Gwiraman SHS.

The third contest was won by Archbishop Porter Girls' with a whooping 47 points.

Meanwhile, four other contests will take place today, April 26, in the Western Regional Qualifier.
Seventeen schools are participating in these contests.

The last contest takes place on April 27. It features Ghana Sec. Tech. School, Esiama SHTS, Nsein SHS and Shama SHS.
