Works on the B.K Adama multipurpose youth resource center in the Upper West Region is nearing completion.
This is according to G. A Takyi Consult Project consultant, Fobi Asabere.
The project, which is in two phases, is expected to be completed before the end of 2022.
This comes after work on the project was halted due to construction challenges and changes to the original architectural designs made during the 9-month given period following its start in 2018.
During a tour of the multimillion cedi project, consultants for the project briefed the Chief Executive of the National Youth Authority, Pius Enam Hadzide, that works on the first phase of the project is 98 percent complete, while the second phase is about 45 percent complete.
Explaining the reason for the delay in completing the project, Mr. Enam Hadzide noted that certain measures had to be put in place to ensure that the facility is sustainable.
“.. we had to wall it and introduce some ticketing booths so that from time to time, for some specific games, when the decision is made that a certain token can be collected and those monies can then go back to maintaining the facility,” he stated
The Upper West Regional Minister, Hafiz Bin Salih for his part, stated that the construction of a multi-purpose youth resource center has sparked youth interest.
“It is my expectation that if we are able to harness our efforts together, we should in no time see the completion of the facility so that it will be put to use,” he added.
