Ghana Union of Traders Association GUTA says its members will embark on a sit-down strike on August 29, to draw government’s attention to the harsh economic environment in which they operate.
Speaking at a press conference in Accra on August 22, 2022, the traders said recent policies introduced by government are affecting their businesses.
Wearing red arm bands, the traders urged the government to resolve the challenges facing the economy.
The President of the Ghana Union of Traders’ Associations (GUTA), Joseph Obeng also complained about how foreigners are in engaging retail trade, which is a preserve for Ghanaians.
