What do you get when two conscious rappers jump on a track? That is a question fast-rising musicians KooKusi and R.B.D. have answered in a new song dubbed 'No Where Cool'.
KooKusi has earlier premiered a video last year in which he went on a solo run chronicling his dilemma about staying in the United States versus going back to the motherland, Ghana.
On the new song released on January 13, KooKusi joins forces with R.B.D to bring fresh perspectives to the subject.
The former sheds light on the country described as the land of opportunities and its accompanying ills while Ghana’s unattractive economic woes are addressed by the latter.
In a cinematic setting, KooKusi listens to R.B.D. spell out the extent of political rot and corruption in his country and his eagerness to seek greener pastures abroad.
Kookusi, in response, tells dark tales about racism and gun violence that an African immigrant has to deal with living abroad.
The timing of the song is quite interesting since Ghana is currently experiencing a financial crunch as race-related crimes in the US continue to be more prevalent than ever.
The record was produced by Christoven, mixed and mastered by Rdeebeatz.
It forms part of the musician’s forthcoming EP ‘Greetings from abroad’.
