Controversial preacher Rev. Christian Kwabena Andrew, popularly known as Osofo Kyiri Abosom says he does not believe the Bible holds any power.
According to him, he would choose to listen to Becca’s song 'You Lied To Me' over a Bible verse like Matthew Chapter 5.
In Matthew Chapter 5, also known as The Beatitudes, Jesus meets the disciples at a mountainside. He opens his sermon with eight statements beginning with the word blessed.
In contrast, in the song You Lied To Me, Becca calls out her cheating ex who betrayed her trust, lied to her and broke her heart.
Speaking on The Delay Show, the controversial pastor explained that there are many lessons to be picked from the song as compared to what the scripture presents.
He told show host Deloris Frimpong Manso (Delay) that being told that Jesus went to the mountain top to communicate with his disciples in Matthew Chapter 5 does not “solve any problem”.
Osofo Kyiri Abosom insisted that the Bible has been put together for research purposes and does not yield any power.
He added that the power resides in himself as an individual and that is what he works with.
He explained that he does not believe the name ‘Jesus’ has any power contrary to what many Christians believe, but said rather the spirit in him.
When asked what he guides his church members with as a pastor, Kyiri Abosom said that he only picks scriptures that are essential to the message he delivers.
