Ghanaian musician, KiDi, has cleared the air on rumours linking his temporary break from social media and performances to ill-health.
In a yet-to-air interview with Sika Osei, KiDi stated that the rumour that he had a stroke was one of the craziest things he had ever heard.
KiDi also stated emphatically that he does not have any liver disease as some had suggested.
For some fans, their conclusions on KiDi's health status, was based on the fact that the artiste had said, “If I show you my liver…You go take me to prayer.”
“First of all, you can see me, I do not have a stroke. It was one of the craziest things I’ve ever heard. I want to state categorically that I do not have a liver disease,” KiDi told Sika Osei.
The ‘Adiepena’ hitmaker, in February this year, cancelled his North American tour which was expected to come off in March 2023.
The artiste was expected to tour about 10 cities in the US, including Seattle, Dallas, New York, Los Angeles, Boston, Chicago and Atlanta. In Canada, he was booked to perform in Toronto.
Announcing to his fans why the tour was cancelled, KiDi noted that the decision was inevitable due to some health issues – but he did not elaborate.
This led to speculations about his health with some people spreading rumours that he was suffering from a stroke.
Lynx Entertainment's Richie Mensah debunked the rumours, and said the claims were being used for clickbait purposes.
KiDi returned to social media in April and in his post, noted that he appreciated the love and support he felt from fans, family and all who reached out after he fell ill.
He also took to the stage for the first time in months at the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards, performing his new single I Lied where he talks about being unwell.
