The government says it will demystify the business environment through its regulatory regime framework set to be presented to parliament for approval.
According to the Trade and Industry Minister, K.T Hammond, his outfit is committed to supporting private sector businesses through technology.
Speaking at the UK-Ghana Chamber of Commerce End of year Gala Dinner and Awards for businesses, he reiterated the government’s commitment to cushioning local businesses to take advantage of the African Continental Free Trade Agreement (AfCFTA).
“We as a government wants to demystify the business regulatory regime in the country to ensure businesses are conducted with ease”.
“We need a transformation to create an enabling environment to see businesses thrive and where innovation is encouraged. Ghana will take its rightful place in trading and business activities. We are committed to supporting these businesses”, he added.
UK-Ghana Chamber of Commerce to deepen trade relations with UK
The Executive Director at the UK-Ghana Chamber of Commerce, Adjoba Kyiamah, said her outfit will deepen its trade relations with the United Kingdom
She urged businesses to be more resilient in the line of operations regardless of the current economic downturn.
“It has been a good year and we have celebrated our member companies because they have contributed so much to the economy of Ghana”.

“These businesses have been very exceptional this year and for that reason deserve the awards. We will continue to support these companies” She said.
The UKGCC established in 2016 in Ghana has promoted trade between the UK and Ghana. It is the leading private sector organisation proffering trade and commerce support for UK and Ghanaian businesses.
The UKGCC provides exceptional support for its members through the sharing of knowledge and ideas, creating platforms for building stronger networks and providing linkages with the government and its agencies.
