The Inspector General of Police (IGP) Dr. George Akuffo Dampare has organised a special Guard of Honour for the outgoing Chief of Defence Staff of the Ghana Armed Forces, Vice Admiral Seth Amoama, as his tenure comes to an end on Wednesday, January 31, 2024.
Addressing the gathering, IGP Dr. Akuffo Dampare stated that he put together the guard of honour with his management board just to celebrate the outgoing CDS for how he supported him when he was appointed head of the Ghana Police Service.
“We have gathered here to express our profound gratitude and happiness that you have served successfully, mother Ghana.
“We say in my language that a solider man will never pass by a barrack without entering there to find out what is happening. And I know that you are only handing over the position but you will remain a military person and … put mother Ghana first for the rest of your life”.
Leaders of various security agencies, such as the Ghana Fire Service, Ghana Immigration Service, Ghana Prisons, and Customs Division, each had goodwill messages for Vice Admiral Amoama.
Meanwhile, the outgoing CDS, Vice Admiral Seth Amoama, expressed his gratitude for the Guard of Honour held for him.
He termed the ceremony as unique and highlighted its unprecedented nature within the security agency. Again he expressed confidence in his successor, Major General Oppong Peprah to do a great job.
