A founding member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr Nyaho Nyaho-Tamakloe, has advised the Electoral Commission (EC) to allow the will of the people to reign devoid of manipulation.
According to him, in the current times the country is in, the least attempt to tamper with electoral results would result in severe consequences.
Speaking in an interview with JoySports' Atsu Tamakloe, he explained that "No one and particularly to the Electoral Commission, any tricks they will play to change the results will lead this country into a serious disaster."
"And you the young people, you should open your ears and make sure this doesn't happen because you will lose," he said.
He also raised concerns about the NPP flagbearer, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, with running mate, Dr Mathew Opoku Prempeh's potential to capture political power during the December poll.
Dr Nyaho-Tamakloe said the pair were not convincing enough and could not genuinely secure victory.
"That ticket I personally don't believe can win a genuine election in this country," he said.
He also suggested that Dr Bawumia did not have a hand in the selection of his running mate, a move he insists will stifle synergy.
"And as I predicted earlier, that there is no way Bawumia will have a free hand to pick his running mate? Never. I said it earlier, I have the tape. [I said] his running mate we pick for him. And that's exactly what happened," he said.
"Why should Bawumia not be allowed to pick his own running mate? Whether he will gel with his running mate, that is his palaver."
The party stalwart also found it worrying that MPs would even consider legislation to enforce their rights to use sirens and drive devoid of speed limits.
