Wisconsin International University College, Ghana has once again been honoured for its excellent services and facilities as it earns another recognition for its contribution in the field of cybersecurity.
At a recent awards ceremony organised by the Cybersecurity Authority of Ghana and attended by the President, Nana Addo Dankwah Akuffo Addo, Wisconsin International University received the Industry Partnership Award for its continuous commitment and support toward cybersecurity development and training in Ghana.
Receiving the awards on behalf of the university, Jacob Fynn, Chief Operating Officer, attributed this award to the university's leap and investment over the last few years, particularly in setting upstate-of-the-art Cybersecurity, digital forensics, and AI laboratories for training and commercial purposes.
Mr Fynn was confident the recent awards the university has won will spur it to do even more in safeguarding the reverence and recognition by ensuring even bigger investments in infrastructural development in IT and Cybersecurity.
Also present at the event was the minister for Communication, Mrs Ursela Owusu-Ekuful who expressed gratitude to all stakeholders for supporting Ghana’s cybersecurity efforts over the past year.
The Director-General of the CSA, Dr Albert Antwi-Boasiako, also stressed the importance of collaboration in navigating the complex cybersecurity environment in the ever-changing cybersecurity landscape saying all stakeholders must remain vigilant and proactive in addressing emerging threats.
The Cybersecurity awards climaxed a month-long national cybersecurity awareness campaign on the theme: “Combatting misinformation and disinformation in a digitally resilient democracy: our collective responsibility”.
Ghana’s cybersecurity journey has evolved tremendously since 2017 with Ghana attaining global recognition as a hub for cybersecurity development by being ranked at the highest tier in the 5th edition of the International Telecommunications Union (ITU) Global.
