Contrary to the notion that Stonebwoy's management ordered DJ Lord OTB to stop playing Shatta Wale's songs at the 2025 Accravaganza, the DJ's manager has clarified that it was rather a third party that relayed the information to them.
Speaking on Daybreak Hitz with Andy Dosty, Joojo, DJ Lord's manager explained that they played two Shatta Wale songs back-to-back before receiving a message from a top official of Guinness Ghana, the sponsors of the programme.
"So I think we played like two Shatta Wale songs like back-to-back, I actually saw a lady walk up. I know the lady, not personally, but I know who the lady is,” he said.
According to Joojo, the lady in question relayed a message from Stonebwoy's management expressing their dissatisfaction with the back-to-back play of Shatta Wale songs.
"The lady walked up to the stage with her phone and opened a chat that, Stonebwoy's management is not happy with the Shatta Wale back-to-back, so if we can minimise it,” he noted.
Joojo stated that he whispered the message to DJ Lord, and they adjusted their set accordingly.
"So she relayed information to me and I whispered to Lord that this is what has been relayed to me,” he explained.
Asked how many Shatta Wale songs they had played before receiving the message, Joojo stated: "It was two, back to back. I was there, I saw everything. He played two songs and that was all."
Meanwhile, Vida Adutwumwaa Boateng, the Head of Communications at Burniton Music Group, has denied claims that Stonebwoy's camp ordered DJ Lord to stop playing Shatta Wale's songs either directly or through any Guinness official.
"I have dared DJ Lord to produce the name of whoever told him that we were ordering him to stop playing Shatta Wale's song,” she said.
On April 1, 2025, DJ Lord OTB took to his social media handles to recount how a management member of Stonebwoy ordered him to stop playing Shatta Wale's song at the Accravaganza programme when he was on duty as disc jockey.
In the post, he wrote: During my DJ set alongside Merqury Quaye, I included some essential tracks of Shatta Wale into our playlist , an artist whose music forms the backbone of any Ghanaian musical experience. The crowd's energy confirmed we were on the right track until a top Board official of the show intervened. At the behest of Stonebwoy's management, I was instructed to cease playing Shatta Wale's music immediately."
The organisers and the sponsors of the event are yet to respond to the allegations made by DJ Lord and his manager.
