Gospel musicians Celestine Donkor and her husband Kofi Donkor have pledged to sponsor the education of two children of DJ Awana, a top DJ at the Multimedia Group Limited who passed away a few weeks ago.
During the one week commemoration of DJ Awana held in Tema Community 2, the gospel musician and her husband who is also her manager made this announcement.
According to them, this is their way of appreciating the late DJ Awana for supporting their music ministry.
One of the two children they are offering the educational scholarship to, is in the Junior High School while the other is at the Senior High School level.
DJ Awana, a popular name in disc jockeying in Ghana, passed away on April 6, 2025 after a short illness.
Although a silent DJ, his impeccable skills earned him a lot of admirers and fans.
His final funeral rites will be held on September 27, 2025.
In the meantime, Celestine Donkor is out with a new song titled 'Akorfala'.
