True to his word, the host of Power Sports on Nhyira FM, Richard Smith Donkor, has shaved his head clean – locally known as going ‘Sakora’ – after Manchester United’s loss to Tottenham Hotspur in the UEFA Europa League final.
The bold move comes after the popular sports presenter made a public promise to listeners that he would go bald if Manchester United failed to lift the trophy.
"This is the easiest game we will play in Europe, and we will win because we have played in the stadium recently and are familiar with the pitch," he said during his show ahead of the game.

The sports presenter's courageous promise before the game was as result of Manchester United's unbeaten run in the Europa League competition this season, but failed to clinch the trophy after an abysmal performance against Tottenham in the final.
But Tottenham Hotspur ended their 17-year trophy drought on Wednesday night at the San Mames Stadium in Spain when Brenan Johnson's scrappy goal in the first half powered Spurs to a 1-0 victory over Man United.
Following the defeat, Richardo, as known by listeners, fulfilled his pledge by shaving his hair live on air.
Some management members of Nhyira FM begged on his behalf against the shaving of his hair, but Richardo's colleagues refused the apology and brought in a barber to shave his hair to the joy of some listeners.
Mr. Donkor had also told his audience he would resign as host of Power Sports if United failed to win. However, the management of the station allegedly refused his resignation letter.
The act of the sports host has earned praise from fans for being a man of integrity.
Listeners and social media followers have commended Richardo for keeping his word, calling it a refreshing example of accountability and connection with his audience in the world of sports broadcasting.
