Ghanaian winger Ernest Nuamah was on target for Lyon in the team’s home victory against Frankfurt in the UEFA Europa league.
Lyon produced a dominant performance in the game against the German-side who were looking to make it a record-equaling 18 matches unbeaten in the UEL.
However it was the visitors who took the lead against the run of play when unmarked Ansgar Knauff connected to a volley from Hugo Ekittike cross to open the scoring in the 18th minute.
It was long when the enqualizer came in the 27th minute after Tolisso’s long range shot took a deflection off Rayan Cherki leaving goalkeeper, Kevin Trapp helpless.
After the break, Lyon maintained their momentum and took the lead in the 50th minute through Malick Fofana.
Four minutes later, Nuamah added his name to the scoresheet with a brilliant strike to extend the lead to 3-1.
However, Frankfurt managed to reduced the deficit to one after Omar Marmoush scored in the 85th minute.
However, Lyon held on to secure the victory. Nuamah’s impressive performance has now taken his tally to 1 goal and an assist in the competition.
