Hearts of Oak women's team, Oaks FC, have sealed promotion to the 2025/26 Malta Guinness Women's Premier League following their latest win in the ongoing Division One League Regional Championship.
Oaks FC defeated Rootz Sistaz on Wednesday morning to make it four wins in four games, ensuring they book a place in the top flight with a game to spare.
Fatima Ibrahim opened the scoring for Mercy Tagoe's side in the 4-1 win in the eighth minute with a brilliant finish before Victoria Yeboah tapped into an empty net nine minutes later to make it 2-0.
Oaks FC continued their dominance and extended their lead in the 33rd minute with a fine finish from Amanda Hills. They also missed a penalty before the break.
After the recess, Nuratu Iddrisu got a goal back for Rootz Sistaz, but it was only a consolation as Seraphine Essenam scored from the penalty spot to restore the Phobia Ladies' three-goal lead.
Despite their late attempt, Rootz Sistaz were unable to get back into the game, suffering their second consecutive defeat in the Championship.
Oaks FC had beaten Anlo Ladies, Essiam Socrates and Sissamba Ladies in their first three games of the competition.
They will now face Samartex Ladies in their final game, knowing promotion is already in the bag.
They will play in the Southern Zone next season.
