The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, today, June 30, met with the Kusaug Traditional Council as part of his efforts to restore lasting peace in the troubled Bawku area of the Upper East Region.
Announced by the Manhyia Palace today in a press release, the meeting highlights the Asantehene’s commitment to resolving the longstanding conflict.

Earlier this year, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II led mediation talks in Kumasi that helped ease tensions, and he has since resumed stalled negotiations, calling on all stakeholders to support the peace process and work toward sustainable harmony.
