A young woman has been apprehended at the Adenta SSNIT Flats in Accra after being found in possession of multiple master keys suspected to be used in break-ins targeting residents’ apartments.
Reports suggest that some residents confronted the suspect due to her suspicious behaviour in the area. Upon interrogation and a quick search of her bag, multiple master keys were discovered.
Before her arrest, many tenants had reported missing items and signs of forced entry but had no leads on the culprit.
She allegedly waited for occupants to leave for work before quietly unlocking their doors, stealing valuables, and leaving without a trace.
However, luck eluded her when a vigilant neighbour spotted her attempting to unlock a door and raised the alarm.
She is currently in the custody of the Adenta District Command and is assisting police with ongoing investigations.
Residents suspect she may be part of a wider network involved in apartment burglaries in the area.
A video shared by Facebook user Dangme Nobi captured the suspected thief in tears while some residents interrogated her.
