The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has announced preparation for the one-week observation of the late Asantehemaa, Nana Konadu Yiadom III, scheduled for Thursday, August 21, 2025.
It follows the official announcement of the Asante Queen’s demise, which occurred on Thursday, August 7, 2025.
The one-week rite will be held at the forecourt of the Manhyia Palace in Kumasi.

Mourners from across Ghana and beyond are expected to gather to pay their last respects to the Asante monarch, after eight years of dedicated service to the Ashanti Kingdom.
Palace officials say the event will follow traditional Asante customs, with chiefs, queen mothers, government officials, and members of the public expected to attend in mourning attire.

Nana Konadu Yiadom III was known for her wisdom, compassion, and commitment to preserving Ashanti traditions.
Her passing has been described as a “great loss” to the Kingdom and the nation.
