The staff and management of Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC)joined hands today to clean up the Meridian-Harbour Road area as part of their ECO MOTION campaign, working alongside the Tema Metropolitan Assembly and Zesta Environmental Solutions.
The clean-up saw GNPC employees clearing litter and debris from the busy road, with the company's leadership emphasising the importance of environmental care for future generations.

Eric Pwadura, Director of Corporate Affairs, participated in the initiative and highlighted the company's commitment to environmental stewardship through the ECO MOTION campaign, which focuses on creating clean, green and sustainable communities.
Eunice Ofori, Head of Events at GNPC's Corporate Affairs Directorate, stressed the long-term importance of the environmental work.
"This is important because we are doing it for our future generations unborn, because if the environment is not clean when we grow crops, they won't yield good harvests, the filth will choke it," Eunice Ofori explained.

Eunice Ofori emphasised the urgency of environmental action, adding: "We need to leave a clean environment as a legacy because there is a saying that when the last tree dies, the last man dies. We want to see green vegetation, we want to clean and plant trees."
The GNPC events head also called for broader community involvement. "I am calling on the people of Tema and its environs to also take up the mantle and do their best to keep their surroundings clean," Eunice Ofori urged.

The Meridian-Harbour Road clean-up represents the practical side of GNPC's environmental commitment, with staff taking direct action to improve local conditions.
The ECO MOTION campaign operates under the hashtag #GreenTodayGreenerTomorrow, reflecting the company's vision of current environmental actions building a sustainable future.

The partnership with Tema Metropolitan Assembly and Zesta Environmental Solutions shows how different organisations can work together on environmental challenges, combining corporate resources with local authority support and specialist knowledge.
