The Greater Accra Regional Minister, Linda Ocloo, has expressed deep disappointment over the performance of some Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs) in the region, accusing them of inefficiency and complacency.
Speaking to the media and MMDCEs at a meeting in Accra on Thursday, August 28, Madam Ocloo said the inability of certain chief executives to fulfill their responsibilities was undermining the government’s efforts to address the region’s critical challenges.
“Let me go straight to say that I am disappointed at the level of inefficiency and complacency exhibited by some of our chief executives. At this stage, excuses are nothing but an embarrassment to the people we serve,” she stated.
She further stressed that leadership should be judged by results, not titles or privileges.
“Leadership is not about sitting in offices and enjoying the perks of your position. It is about delivering results, and right now, many of you are simply sleeping on the job,” she stated.
