A parked bus was completely destroyed in a fierce fire during the early hours of Monday, October 6, along the Accra–Cape Coast highway, prompting a swift response from firefighters.
According to a Facebook post shared by the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS), the incident occurred near Bereku and involved a TATA bus with registration number GM 2889-14, which had reportedly been abandoned at the roadside for nearly two weeks.

Firefighters from the Buduburam Fire Station arrived at the scene to find the vehicle fully engulfed in flames, with the blaze posing an immediate danger to motorists using the busy highway.
GNFS noted that the crew acted quickly and managed to bring the fire under control to prevent it from spreading or causing further damage.

The cause of the fire is unknown.
Fire officials have reiterated the importance of removing abandoned vehicles from public roadsides, noting the potential fire risks and safety concerns they present.
