A national job content analysis programme begins today to gather information and evaluate jobs in the public sector.It forms part of the comprehensive pay reform that is to ensure an equitable salary structure for public sector workers.About 120 human resource officers will be at the government ministries, departments and agencies from today to May 24, to interview over 8,000 workers for information on their jobs.About 1,500 different jobs have been selected for analysis and evaluation to enable the government to effectively upgrade the salaries of workers.The Director of Administration of the Ministry of Public Sector Reforms, Mr Kwame Adorbor, told newsmen during a briefing that the job evaluation would ensure “equal pay for equal work done.”He said the information which would be collated from the MDAs, health, educational and research institutions as well as other organisations would also be used to improve the conditions of service for the workers.It is being funded from the Consolidated Fund.Mr Adorbor urged the institutions to collaborate and provide the necessary assistance to the evaluation team to make the programme a success.Source: The Ghanaian Times
