The third edition of the Ghana Pickleball Association's National Open came to an end over the weekend.
The event, which took place on the Pickleball Court of the University of Ghana, saw several players come together to compete for honours.
Over 100 players came from all regions to Ghana to compete for medals and an opportunity to get into the national pickleball team.
The two-day event featured categories such as the men's singles, women's singles, doubles and mixed doubles matches as well as the U-16 competition.

The winner of the junior category, Magel Zigah, was excited to happy competed in the tournament while urging others to also follow suit in getting involved in pickleball.

Ali Yahaya and Patrick Klutse were winners of the men's doubles competition while Martha Dzramado and Lawrencia Onome Aghoghovbia championed the women's double event.

Shanissi Addoquaye Tagoe and Klutse Patrick came second in the mixed double event.

Acting President of the Ghana Pickleball Association, Raymond Zigah, was impressed with the turnout for the event as he looks ahead to a West African regional tournament next month.
Top performers from the event are expected to form the foundation of the national team ahead of the games in November.
