For the first time in history, a direct flight will connect Accra, Ghana, and Bridgetown, Barbados, a landmark development set to take place this November as part of the GUBA Awards and Trade & Investment Conference 2025.

The chartered flight, organised by GUBA Enterprise in collaboration with leading aviation and travel partners, will transport African and Caribbean leaders, investors, and creatives to Barbados for a week-long programme celebrating trade, innovation, and African excellence.

This milestone represents a major step forward in Africa–Caribbean relations, symbolising a powerful reconnection between two regions bound by shared heritage and history.

Founder and President of GUBA Enterprise, Lady Dentaa Amoateng MBE, said, “To further this mission, we are proud to announce that we are going to be doing a chartered flight from Ghana to Barbados.

"This historic flight is symbolic of what GUBA stands for — breaking barriers, building bridges, and creating access to opportunity.”

Held under the theme “Reclaiming Our Atlantic Destiny: Connect. Build. Renew.”, the GUBA Awards Barbados 2025 will run from November 9 to 13, featuring the GUBA Trade & Investment Conference (November 10–11) and the GUBA Awards Ceremony (November 12).

Delegates from Ghana, Africa, the Caribbean, and the diaspora are expected to join over 400 high-level participants, including policymakers, investors, and entrepreneurs, for discussions on trade, investment, tourism, and innovation.

The maiden Accra–Bridgetown flight marks a new chapter in South–South cooperation, reflecting renewed calls for deeper economic and cultural collaboration between Africa and the Caribbean.
