The Christian Council of Ghana (CCG) will celebrate its 96th anniversary on Thursday, October 30, 2025, marking nearly a century of faith-based service and national engagement since its establishment in 1929 by five historic mission churches.
The Council now boasts over 30 member churches and para-church organisations.
To commemorate the milestone, the CCG will host a Breakfast Meeting under the theme “Reflections, Achievements, Setbacks and the Way Forward.”
The event is scheduled to take place at the Ridge Church in Accra and expected to bring together church leaders, policymakers, and the wider Christian community to reflect on the Council’s journey and chart a path for the future.
The meeting will be chaired by Reverend Dr Joyce Rosalind Aryee, Executive Director of Salt & Light Ministries, renowned for her decades of leadership in both church and national service.
The Guest Speaker, Dr Samuel Amo Tobbin, Executive Chairman of the Tobinco Group of Companies, will share insights on the intersection of faith, leadership, and nation-building.
Representing the Presidency will be Nana Oye Bampoe-Addo, Deputy Chief of Staff, who will stand in for the Chief of Staff, Julius Debrah.
According to the Council, the anniversary event will serve as a moment of reflection and renewal, setting the tone for its maiden Ecumenical Convention slated for 14–16 November 2025 at the University of Ghana, Legon.
It will also form part of a series of initiatives leading to the Council’s centenary celebrations in 2029.
Over the decades, the Christian Council has remained a steadfast partner to the State, fostering ecumenism, interfaith dialogue, peace, and social cohesion.
As the General Secretary, Rev. Dr Cyril Fayose, affirmed, the Council remains committed to consolidating its role as Ghana’s foremost ecumenical body—shaping the moral and holistic development of the nation under the guidance of God Almighty.
