Ghanaian media personality and youth advocate Kobby Kyei will host a new edition of The Shine Summit at PRESEC Legon on Friday, 1 November, under the theme “Boys’ Lives Matter.”
The event aims to create a safe and open space for dialogue, empowerment and positive change among boys and young men. It forms part of a broader effort to address the emotional, psychological and social challenges that boys face in today’s society.
The Boys’ Lives Matter movement is a global campaign that raises awareness about issues such as mental health, identity struggles and societal expectations. It challenges the silence and stigma that often stop boys from expressing their emotions or seeking help.
Speaking ahead of the summit, Kobby Kyei highlighted the importance of giving boys the freedom to express themselves. He said society must “listen more to boys and create environments where they can thrive without fear or judgment.”
Powered by Global Ovations, the event will feature engaging discussions, mentorship sessions and inspiring stories from thought leaders committed to youth development and gender balance.
By bringing the Boys’ Lives Matter conversation to schools like PRESEC Legon, The Shine Summit seeks not only to celebrate boys’ potential but also to promote their emotional and mental well-being, an essential step toward building a more balanced and empathetic society.
