Civil engineer and Fellow of the Ghana Institution of Engineers, Ing. Seth Oduro Yaw Ahene, shared his remarkable story on JoyFM's Super Morning Show during this year’s International Day of Persons with Disabilities.
Ing. Seth recounted how a medical error at the age of one left him paralysed, setting him on a challenging path from an early age.

“Despite the obstacles, I persevered,” he said, pursuing an education in civil engineering, a field not traditionally accommodating persons with physical disabilities.
Today, Ing. Seth holds a master’s degree in civil engineering and runs his own successful business. Reflecting on his journey, he encouraged other persons with disabilities not to let their condition define them but to remain focused and pursue their goals relentlessly.

He also called on the government and stakeholders to prioritise the inclusion of persons with disabilities in Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) programmes, emphasising that such initiatives would empower them to become self-reliant.
