The Controller and Accountant-General’s Department (CAGD) has confirmed that the delayed education sector allowances have been paid.
The department earlier explained that the delay was caused by a technical hitch encountered during the final payroll run for November 2025.
To avoid disrupting the payment of November salaries for all government of Ghana workers, processing of the affected education sector allowances was temporarily paused.
Although the CAGD had indicated that the outstanding allowances would be paid together with December 2025 salaries on 18 December 2025, the Department clarified that the payments were effected earlier, alongside December salaries, on 16 December 2025.
The CAGD expressed regret for the inconvenience caused and reaffirmed its commitment to improving payroll efficiency to prevent a recurrence.
The Department also thanked the affected workers for their patience and understanding during the period of the delay.
