Two people have died and several others injured following a road traffic accident on the Cape Coast–Takoradi Highway at Abakam in the early hours of Tuesday, 23rd December 2025.
According to a Facebook post shared by the Ghana Fire Service (GNFS), the collision involved a Toyota Corolla (registration GS 2455-25) and a Sprinter bus (WR 316-24).

Firefighters from the Elmina Fire Station responded to the scene after receiving a distress call at 5:11 a.m. They secured the area, cleared debris, and worked to prevent secondary accidents while restoring the free flow of traffic along the busy highway.

Following the accident, four victims were rushed to the University of Cape Coast (UCC) Hospital, where two later succumbed to their injuries.

In addition, ten other victims were taken to the Cape Coast Teaching Hospital, where they are receiving treatment. The condition of these patients has not been disclosed.
