Five people, including an eight-year-old boy, are in critical condition following a tragic road traffic accident at Baah Yard in the Ablekuma North Municipality.
According to eyewitnesses, a Toyota Tundra pickup truck reportedly suffered a brake failure, causing the driver to lose control and ram into several vehicles and roadside traders along the stretch on Friday, December 2.
The Ablekuma North Ambulance Station was alerted shortly after the crash and responded promptly to the scene.
Paramedics conducted immediate triage, stabilised the critically injured victims, and transported them to Akawe Hospital and the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital for urgent medical care.
Residents and onlookers have commended the swift response of the ambulance crew, noting that their timely intervention helped prevent any loss of life—particularly among the most vulnerable victims, including the young child.
