The Member of Parliament for Okaikwei South, Ernest Adomako, has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of Ayawaso East MP, Mahama Naser Toure, describing the loss as both shocking and heartbreaking.
The late legislator, who served four terms in Parliament, died at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital after a short illness. His death has sent waves of grief across Parliament, particularly within the Greater Accra caucus.
Speaking to journalists at the residence of the late MP, Mr Adomako said Mahama Naser Toure was a unifying force among Members of Parliament in the Greater Accra Region and was widely respected across political lines for his humility and approachability.
“He was our Greater Accra caucus chairman and a genuinely good man. Anytime he saw me, he engaged warmly. He did not appear like someone who was unwell, which makes his passing extremely sad and surprising. But in all things, God knows best,” he said.
Mr Adomako noted that the late MP’s dedication to parliamentary duties and leadership would be sorely missed, recalling his service as Vice Chairman of the Energy Committee, as well as his membership on the Roads and Transport Committee, the House Committee, and the Private Members’ Bill and Motion Committee.
