The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has expressed confidence that the Global Info Analytics projection of a 75% win in the Ayawaso East by-election will be realised.
Speaking in an interview on JoyNews' The Pulse on Tuesday, the Deputy Director of Elections and IT for the NDC, Rashid Tanko-Computer, said the party’s mobilisation strategy has been effective over the past two weeks.
“I can assure you, by 5:30 p.m., you will hear of a huge margin of victory for the NDC. Our team has been working vigorously in the constituency, and our strategy is working today,” he stated.
Mr Tanko-Computer explained that a team of party experts has been deployed across polling stations to monitor proceedings and bring out voters, ensuring that the 75% margin projected by Global Info Analytics “will still come to pass.”
“We are keeping our eye on the ball because we want to make sure the 75% given to us — we can even go beyond that. That is what we are expecting at the end of the day,” he added.
His comments come amid reports of low voter turnout at several polling stations in the Ayawaso East by-election.
Despite these reports, the NDC official insisted that their intensive mobilisation efforts would ensure the party achieves the predicted percentage and even exceed.
